In our ongoing efforts to reach out to the vast community of authors and book enthusiasts, Book Reviewer Yellow Pages has come to visit the Hawaii Book and Music Festival in sunny Honolulu to see the sights and meet some of the authors who came to share their works. From seasoned writers with a full portfolio, to new authors self-publishing their first book, all sorts have come to share their talents and contributions to literature. We’ve truly found a treasure trove of interesting people and stories!
The writers we saw at the festival have published books in multitudes of genres, ranging from children’s books to personal memoirs. We’ve have the enormous privilege of sitting in on some fascinating author panels and hearing the speakers recount their firsthand experiences in writing, their main inspirations, the challenges they’ve overcome to finish and publish their books, and their personal journeys and aspirations for the future. The stories we’ve heard and the sheer diversity of people and places represented at the festival has been staggering. People from around the country and even international visitors brought their unique perspectives to share.
We even had the chance to offer a copy of our own book at a Book Swap, where we hope some aspiring author will pick us up and use our listings to find a book reviewer to help them on their way to becoming an accomplished writer. We will be returning with plenty more to share about this event and the people we’ve had the opportunity to speak with. We wish the talented folks we met at the festival all the best, and hope the lucky person who picks up the Book Review Yellow Pages we’ve left behind will find the perfect reviewer to help make their book a hit.
